The Big River Mix-Up part 5 of 6

Betty went to Las Vegas, as Justin asked her, and had her hair color and style changed.  Then she went to a casino and lost the $150,000 that Justin had given her. While she was gambling away the money, she was unaware of a newspaper photographer, who took plenty of pictures.

"Double Zero!  The house wins all!" announced the croupier at the roulette table.

Exhausted after weeks of speeches, Patty took a weekend off from the campaign to go camping in the woods. Unfortunately, she'd told no one her plans, so no one knew where she was. Was she camping in the woods or gambling in Las Vegas?

The next day, Justin happily read the Montana newspaper headline: "Candidate Loses Thousands in Las Vegas!!"  He knew that his plan had worked.  Patty's chances of winning the election in Montana were badly hurt!

Because the picture appeared only in Montana newspapers, Betty didn't even see it.

There was still no change in the Big River Valley!  It remained as beautiful as ever.
