When Betty was new on the job, she usually woke up, or stopped sleeping, very early.

She didn't have time to work out; exercise was a luxury she couldn't find time for.

On the job, she waited on the boss all day long; in other words, she did everything for him.

This job really wore her out.  That is, it tired her.

Sometimes when the boss had big projects, he asked Betty to write them up, or write a report on them.

On those days, she sometimes didn't wrap the job up until late at night.  That is, she finished the job late.

When she got home, she zonked out.  In other words, she fell asleep quickly and deeply.

Nevertheless, she maintained a normal body temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. That's ninety-eight point six.
